AngloGold Ashanti has been working with Sheppard Associates for the past 18 months to develop and deliver a middle management leadership development programme as well as a safety leadership programme designed for leaders at all levels of our business. AngloGold Ashanti Australia has embarked on a Safety Leadership program for all team leaders, managers and GM’s. Feed back by individuals indicates that the learning’s from the course have assisted them in their day to day work. It is interesting to note that with this key training and other basis training around hazard and risk and investigation the safety performance for the operations has shown a dramatic improvement. Safety leadership is a prime accountability for all managers and leaders. This course provides the basic tools to assist our management group.

Sheppard Associates designed and delivered two important management development programmes for Sony Australia: The Sony Leadership Development Program and The Sony Business Development Programme
The Sony Leadership Development Programme is based on the Certificate IV in Business (Frontline Management) qualification and the Business Development Programme on the Certificate IV in Business (Marketing). All learning and assessment materials were customised to meet the specific needs of Sony Australia Limited and it’s people.

Sheppard Associates worked with DP World (formerly P&O Ports) for over a decade on a number of major management development projects for the company. One of these projects has been the design and implementation of accredited development programmes for supervisors and team leaders working in a stevedoring environment. Over 500 supervisors have completed the Leading The Workplace Programme in Australia, North America, India, Pakistan, South Africa and the United Kingdom. This programme has been developed specifically for DP World and learning and assessment activities relate directly to the stevedoring industry.
Other projects completed for DP World include conducting a global development needs analysis for Senior Management and developing the Leading the Business Programme based on this analysis. These projects have given Sheppard Associates crucial expertise in the design and implementation of leadership development programmes, particularly in the design of competency assessment processes which are relevant to the workplace and which target specific competencies.
